On Sharing

A few people have written me and said something to the effect of "your Dad/Mom/Friend shared your blog with me, I hope that is OK." And I just wanted to say, YES that is more than OK, it's great! So if you feel compelled to share this blog with anyone, please do.

Why do I want to share my story via this blog? Three reasons:
  1. First, it's way easier to direct people to the blog for the latest updates rather than trying to reach out to each person who's lovingly checking in on us individually. You can also find more information about my diagnosis, how to help, and answers to other questions about my plans so I don't have to repeat the same information to people over and over again. Not that I don't love talking to people, gchatting, emailing, etc. It just gets exhausting saying the same things over and over.
  2. I want to raise awareness that sadly young women can and do get breast cancer, particularly Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
  3. Finally, I believe in the power of prayer. The Bible says that whenever two or more are gathered in His name He is there. And I think that applies to the internet too. I'm keeping our prayer request page up to date and I plan to fill that page up with praises. And when I beat this thing it will be for God's glory and all the people out there who've been praying for us will be a part of that glory. 

Speaking of sharing, big thanks to the beautiful, positive, and inspiring Megan for praying for us and for sharing our story on her blog.

    I am so sorry to hear of your cancer. Life is seriously unfair.

    However, I am thrilled to pieces your little girl is still growing strong.

    I used to follow you on your old blog and was heartbroken when you decided to leave it. I followed the link from Megan (in this wonderful life) to pray for you and my breath was literally taken away to see that it was YOU!!!! I know that you don't know me from Joe Blow off the road and I rarely commented on your old blog but I loved reading the updates on your life and through your blog, felt like I had gotten to know you pretty well. My heart just absolutely breaks for you. I'm glad to see you back on bloggy land because I missed your posts but oh so wish it was under different circumstances that you were back. Sending lots and lots of prayers your way!!!!

    Kirsten... I was about to write exactly what Jami wrote. I used to read your blog and really enjoyed it. When I clicked on the link from Megan's blog, my breath was also taken away. I just can't believe it.

    You can now consider your prayer team one person stronger.. I will be dedicated to praying for you and your sweet baby every day. Thank you for opening up your story to all of us. You're obviously going to beat this thing, and we'll be standing by, praying for you, watching you kick cancer's ass.

    Kirsten, I'm in the same pool as the precious two commenters! I read your old blog and was sad when you moved on. I was reading Megan's blog today and when I was looking at you in your wigs I thought, I think I recognize her! Lol! I'm extremely excited that you're pregnant! But I'm super sad to hear of the cancer!! :( You seem like such a fighter with a great plan, mindset, and faith. We are all praying for the best!! Xoxo

    WOW! I too read your old blog and (the other blog) and was surprised to realize that Megan had posted about you. I had just been thinking about you and wondering what was up. BIG PRAYERS for sure for you, baby and your entire family.

    I'm in the same boat as many of the commenters before me. I used to read your blog (though I didn't comment as often as I wish I had) and saw this link on Megan's blog. You are in my prayers and I'm praying specifically that your count will be good so that you can have the chemo tomorrow. You seem like such a strong woman and just reading what I've read today has been an inspiration to me! Colossians 1:17 is a verse that's brought me comfort these last few months as we've been dealing with some uncertainties.

    I know alot of people are not interested in natural alternative methods to get rid of cancer but one of my friends mom had breast cancer twice and beat it. She went to a place down in Mexico. if your interested email me at preemiebaby@sbcglobal.net I'll be praying for you and your baby.

    I also found your blog through In This Wonderful Life. I am a nurse on an inpatient orthopaedics & oncology unit (yes, it's a strange combo!). Your story captured my attention and I will be following & praying for you!! Can I not follow through Blogger, only by email?

    Found your blog through In This Wonderful Life. While not pregnant, I am a 35 year old mom of 3small kids also in treatment for breast cancer. I, like you, am having chemo first, followed by surgery, then radiation. My cancer is triple positive though. My prayers are with you!

    I promise to pray for you every night before bed! I don't know if you know this about me but I studied energy healing in Sedona for 2.5 years, we can do a session sometime if you want :) love ya!
